Chart notes:
Canadian musician Xana (from Vancouver Island, British Columbia) takes the #1 spot on Tad's LGBT Music Chart this weekend with "Bad Bandit", moving up 2 more places from the midweek's #3 position. Xana says, "I don't often think about being a queer artist. I never really sit down and think 'Okay, now I'm gonna write a gay song'. I'm just writing from my personal experience and writing from my own life. I'm queer, so my experiences are probably going to be queer. But I think I like seeing how much the representation that I've put into the world now with my music and my music videos and everything, seeing how much that has helped so many people. And so I think that my number one thing that I want for my listeners is to live their life authentically as themselves. Show up as you are, be who you are, and be proud of that... Enjoy this life while we have it." Over the past half-week, the video for "Bad Bandit" has gained an additional 11,723 views on YouTube (which is a huge increase of 7.22% since the midweek's chart!).

Two videos move up into the Top Ten this weekend. Brazilian singer/songwriter/dancer Thiago Pantaleão climbs 5 notches to #7 with "Mente Pra Mim". He's joined in the Top Ten by Italian rock quartet Måneskin, who are rising 5 spots to #9 with "Baby Said".

Nine songs fall off the chart to make way for nine new songs. The weekend chart features 9 debuts by LGBTQ artists from Italy, the U.S.A., Canada ,Australia, England, Brazil, and Spain:
  • Jade LeMac (from British Columbia, Canada)
  • Johnny Manuel (originally from Michigan, USA & now residing in Australia)
  • Lil Peep (from New York, USA)
  • Romy (from England, U.K.)
  • Lauren Ruth Ward (from Maryland, USA)
  • Serpentwithfeet (from Maryland, USA)
  • Bruno Gadiol (from Brazil)
  • Ice Spice (from New Jersey, USA)
  • Fiorious (originally from New York, USA & now living in Italy) & Bawrut (originally from Italy & now residing in Spain)

Chart positions are determined by a system of points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the email address below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
