Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Midweek Chart for 11th April, 2021

Chart notes:
Italian rock band Måneskin takes over the top spot on the Midweek LGBT chart with "I Wanna Be Your Slave", moving up three more notches to the #1 position. Since their win at the Eurovision 2021 Song Contest, the Italian quartet has attracted a global audience. The track has gone to the Top 10 on the official charts of 18 European countries (hitting #1 in Finland and Slovakia) and has reached the Top 30 in five countries outside of Europe (Canada, the U.S.A., Australia, New Zealand, and Israel). Over the past three days, the video for "I Wanna Be Your Slave" has gained an additional 1,688,809 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 6.15% over the previous chart).

Four videos move up into the Top 10. Belgian-French vocalist Jérémy Frerot climbs 7 spots to #7 with "Fais-Le". British singer/songwriter Emily Burns spends another week in the Top 10 with her former #1 hit "I'm So Happy", moving back up 5 places to #8. Joining them in the Top 10 are two American acts who both happen to be from the city of Dallas, Texas: St. Vincent is at #9 with "Sad But True" and Tayla Parx is at #10 with "Last Words".

Nine songs fall off the chart to make way for nine new songs. The highest debut was "Monarca" by Chilean artist Entrópica, entering the chart at #29. Entrópica is the pseudonym of producer/singer Francisca Bascuñán. Fran (who identifies as queer) studied acoustic engineering at university & then started her career as a keyboardist for the band Le Fruto (The Fruit) before embarking on a solo career in 2012. Over the past half-week, the video for "Monarca" has gained an additional 3,632 YouTube views (which is an increase of 8.37% over the chart prior).

Further down the chart, we have 8 more debuts by LGBT artists from the U.S.A., Mexico, Belgium, Canada, Brazil, and England:
  • Raymix (from Mexico)
  • Brandi Carlile (from Washington, USA)
  • Griz (from Michigan, USA)
  • Oscar And The Wolf (from Belgium)
  • the Brothers Osborne (from Maryland, USA)
  • Theo Tams (from Alberta, Canada)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views & votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBT artist & must be available on YouTube.
