Chart notes:
It came as no surprise that Dutch singer Duncan Laurence, after winning the Eurovision 2019 song contest in Tel Aviv, gained a huge number of views for the "Arcade" video. The clip registered more than 4.6 million additional views on YouTube this week (an increase of a whopping 59.52% from the previous week) and those extra points have helped to push him back up to #1. This is the second non-consecutive week at #1 for "Arcade".
The remainder of the Top Five this week are: American musician Greyson Chance (holding steady again for a 3rd consecutive week at #2), Ukrainian singer Maruv (rebounding 2 places to spend a 2nd week at #3), New Zealand quartet Openside (slipping 3 notches to #4), and the collaboration from American acts Lil Peep & ILoveMakonnen (climbing a spot to #5).
Seven songs fell off the chart this week to make way for seven new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Think of Me" by Australian duo The Veronicas, coming in at #23. Allen King, Chase Sansing, and Zolita are all returning to the chart this week with new videos as well. Three artists (Rob.B, Jaak, and Boy Untitled) are making their very first appearances on the LGBT chart.
British singer-songwriter Katey Brooks has released a brand-new official video for "All of Me", which will replace the "live session" video on my playlist going forward. The song slipped eight spots this week to #45, after debuting last week at #37. With the new video getting plenty of views, it's still possible for her to rebound and make a comeback next weekend. Only time will tell.
Chart positions are based on points assigned from: (1) the previous week's position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past 7 days, (4) percentage of increase in views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Thursday morning. If you'd like to vote for your favorite songs, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info above).
