Chart Week 41 of 2022: 09 October

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart Week #41 of 2022: Week of 9th October

Chart notes:
Turkish singer Mabel Matiz has reached the top of the LGBT chart this weekend with "Fan", moving up one more place from the midweek's #2 position. In July, the Turkish media watchdog RTÜK banned Mabel's music video for "Karakol" from being broadcasted on Turkish television because it depicted a love story between two men. Mabel, however, was unfazed and says that the lyrics to "Fan" are a rebuttal to all of the backlash, since it urges listeners to choose love over hate. Over the past four days, the video for "Fan" has gained an additional 456,011 views on YouTube (which is a huge increase of 11.10% since the midweek's chart!).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend. French singer/songwriter Mylène Farmer leaps ahead 11 places to #7 with "Á Tout Jamais". Italian vocalist Tiziano Ferro climbs 4 notches to #8 with "La Vita Splendida". Swedish artist Cobrah rises 8 spots to #9 with "Brand New Bitch". They're joined in the Top 10 by Dominican musician Tokischa, who's moving up 5 more positions to #10 with "Sistema Del Patio".

Fourteen songs fall off the chart to make way for fourteen new songs. The highest debut this weekend was "Eat Me" by American vocalist Corvyx, entering the chart at #36. It's a cover version of a track by Demi Lovato that also features transgender singer Royal And The Serpent. Over the past half-week, the video for Corvyx's version of "Eat Me" has gained an additional 756 YouTube views (which is a massive increase of 14.04% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 13 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from England, the U.S.A., Lithuania, Puerto Rico, Spain, France, and Canada:
  • Gabrielius Vagelis (from Lithuania)
  • Kany García (from Puerto Rico)
  • Sam Tsui (from Pennsylvania, USA) & Casey Breves (from New York, USA)
  • Jvel (from Spain)
  • Panic! At The Disco (from Nevada, USA)
  • Bilal Hassani (from France)
  • Kelela (from the District of Columbia, USA)
  • White Lies (from England, UK)
  • Alex Blue (from Michigan, USA)
  • Justin Michael Williams (from California, USA)
  • Bimini Bon-Boulash (from England, UK)
  • Quarterback (from Ontario, Canada)
  • Whatever Mike (from New Jersey, USA)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
