Chart notes:
Brazilian artist Piettro takes over the top of the LGBT chart this weekend with "Rei De Cocada", moving up one more place from the midweek's #2 position. On a radio tour of Brazil to support his newest single, Piettro talked about his busy schedule and said, "In November there will be a lot of LGBT parades, so I'm adjusting to be able to participate in as many as possible. I do shows on a weekly basis, but singing at these events in front of crowds, I think is every artist's dream." Over the past four days, the video for "Rei De Cocada" has gained an additional 52,703 views on YouTube (which is an astounding increase of 21.34% since the midweek's chart!).

Three videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend. British musician Elton John (originally from Middlesex, England) leaps ahead 10 positions to #5 with "Hold Me Closer". German rapper Badmómzjay rises 6 notches to #7 with "Keine Tränen". They're joined in the Top 10 by Peruvian singer Adrian Bello, who's moving up 5 more spots to #9 with "Bailemos En La Sala".

Six songs fall off the chart to make way for five new songs and one re-entry. The highest debut this weekend was "Amour, Haine, Et Danger" by Belgian/French singer/songwriter Angèle, entering the chart at #36. The song's lyrics talk about the dangers of technology and how it can control our lives. Angèle sings about how everything we do is controlled by our devices, from the music we listen to and the videos we watch to the people we talk to. Our devices can stress us out, make us anxious and even make us feel bad. We are addicted to our devices and we can't help it. At the end of the day, all this technology is really just an object, but it has so much power over us. In the video, Angèle portrays a giant smartphone that is accompanying people throughout their daily lives. Over the past half-week, the video for "Amour, Haine, Et Danger" has gained an additional 230,088 YouTube views (which is a massive increase of 12.25% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 4 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from France, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and South Korea:
  • Wapayasos (from Mexico)
  • Tokischa (from the Dominican Republic)
  • Téo Lavabo (from France)
  • Lionesses (from South Korea)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
