Chart notes:
British singer/songwriter Sam Smith (originally from Hertfordshire, England) takes over the #1 spot on Tad's LGBT Music Chart this weekend with "I'm Not Here to Make Friends", moving up 2 more places from the midweek's #3 position. The video begins with Sam clad in pink ruffles, arriving at a manor party via a gold helicopter. Among the video's many costume changes, Sam is shown in high-heel boots, nipple pasties, corsets, a showgirl's headdress, and a skintight black dress. Sam is accompanied by dancers and drag queens throughout this celebration of queer joy. According to SoundCharts, the song has reached #1 on the charts in an astounding total of 32 different countries, including a #1 in Sam's native United Kingdom, and has achieved a #1 spot on The SoundCharts Global Chart. Over the past half-week, the video for "I'm Not Here to Make Friends" has gained an additional 97,778 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 0.42% since the midweek's chart).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend, including a return from a former #1 hit: Swedish singer/songwriter Tove Lo rebounds back up 4 places to #10 with "Borderline". British singer Henry Moodie (from Surrey, England) climbs 9 notches to #6 with "Drunk Text". Spanish musician David Rees rises 5 spots to #7 with "Videojuegos". They're joined in the Top 10 by British drag queen Tayce (from Newport, Wales), who's moving up 8 more places to #9 with "Swagzilla".

Six songs fall off the chart to make way for six new songs. The weekend chart features 6 debuts by LGBTQ artists from Sweden, Brazil, and the U.S.A.:
  • Pink (from Pennsylvania, U.S.A.)
  • Fever Ray (from Sweden)
  • Jão & Anitta (both from Brazil)
  • Uni And The Urchins (from New York, U.S.A.)
  • Loreen (from Sweden)
  • Jack Tracy (from New York, U.S.A.)

Chart positions are determined by a system of points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the email address below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
