Chart notes:
Beginning the chart fresh with the first weekend of April 2025, there are 50 new songs in the Top 50! As before, the chart positions are based on voting and on YouTube views. American musician Tyler Rayn (who's originally from Longview, Washington & now resides in Nashville, Tennessee) has earned a #1 spot on Tad's LGBT Music Chart with "Just Go". Tyler appeared twice as a contestant on American Idol (seasons 12 and 14), both times advancing to the Hollywood rounds before being eliminated. He is openly gay. When this single was first released, Tyler said "I wrote 'Just Go' during a time when I had to let go of things that were holding me back." The track ranked #2 in voting and #3 in YouTube views, which pushed him ahead of the competition and right into the #1 slot.
The remainder of this weekend's Top Ten features LGBTQ artists from England, the U.S.A., Spain, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and Norway:
- Guitarricadelafuente (from Spain)
- Mad Tsai (from California, USA)
- Durand Bernarr (from Ohio, USA)
- Lambrini Girls (from England, U.K.)
- Rebecca Black (from California, USA)
- Anne-Marie (from England, U.K.)
- Ethan (originally from New Zealand & now living in Australia)
- Bbno$ (from British Columbia, Canada)
- Keiino (from Norway)
Voting:
Chart positions are determined by a system of points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below for the email address). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must meet the following criteria:
- Must be from an LGBTQ artist. For a duo/group, at least one member must identify as LGBTQ. Exceptions will be permitted for straight artists who include gay content in their lyrics and/or video, and for straight artists who are widely perceived as a gay icon.
- Video must be available on YouTube.
- Video may not contain more than one minute of audio that is not music (such as dialogue).
- Video must have at least 500 views.
- Video must be longer than 2 minutes, but shorter than 6 minutes.
- Release date of the YouTube video must be within the past four months.
