Chart notes:
There's a new #1 video on the chart this weekend, as "Just Friends" by Jordy moves up two spots to take over the top position. Originally from Chicago, Jordy now resides in Los Angeles. He plans to release an EP later this year.

Also in the Top Five this week are: Jvel (from Spain), Astrid S (from Norway), Jax Jones/Years And Years (from the UK), and Perfume Genius (from Seattle).

Nine songs fell off the chart this week to make way for nine new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Juice" by Lizzo, coming in at #21. Lizzo (whose real name is Melissa Jefferson) is from Minneapolis. She recently performed the song live on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and "The Tonight Show".

Chart positions are based on (1) the previous week's position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube, (4) my votes, and (5) any votes I've received by Thursday morning. If you'd like to vote for your favorite songs, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info above).

  1. We didn't found information about "Sampa the Great & Nadeem Din-Gabisi – “Energy” " : why is it LGBTQ ?

    1. I included Sampa the Great because she has an LGBT fanbase, her lyrics address gender identity, and the video was getting airplay on Logo TV (an LGBT cable network). I am unsure if she has ever talked about her own sexuality. Logo also has a gay blog called NewNowNext, where this song was featured.
