Chart notes:
Muna hasn't been at the top of the LGBT chart since "I Know a Place" hit #1 in 2016. This week, they've finally regained the top spot as "Stayaway" surges ahead three more places to reach the #1 position. The California-based trio (Katie Gavin, Josette Maskin, and Naomi McPherson) met while in college, and all three of them identify as queer. They'll be embarking on a tour of the UK in December.

Eight songs fell off the chart this week to make way for eight new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Lonely" by American singers Thomas Wesley and the Jonas Brothers, coming in at #26. Thomas Wesley is the alter-ego of DJ/producer Diplo (whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz). He came out as gay in August 2019 after a scare on a flight (resulting from cracked windows on a private jet) prompted him to write on Instagram, "I never told you this but I might be gay." After an emergency landing, he added "We landed and no one died and I still might be gay."

Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past 7 days, (4) percentage of increase in views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Wednesday morning. If you'd like to vote for your favorite songs, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info above).
