Chart notes:
Russian duo N.E.F.O.R.M.A.T climbs two spots this week, becoming the first non-Anglophone act to reach #1 on the LGBT chart this year. Many bloggers (including myself) have been referring to this title as "Aliens Destiny", but I've been informed that a better translation would be "Someone Else's Fate". As usual, the automated translations from YouTube are not very accurate. If you're curious to see what the lyrics mean in English, a better translation can be found here.

Greyson Chance received the most votes this week, which helps to propel him up 3 more spots to #3. The remainder of the Top Five this week are: the Lauv/Troye Sivan collaboration (dropping one notch to #2), Texas country/EDM singer Ty Herndon (rising 5 spots to land at #4), and Australian drag queen Courtney Act (dropping a spot to #5).

Six songs fell off the chart this week to make way for six new songs. The highest debut of the week was "I Want You" by Not.Your.Regular.Boy. (from the Netherlands), coming in at #27. NYRB (whose real name is Ferry de Ruiter) participated in The Voice of Holland in 2014, becoming the first person to appear on that show in full drag. This is his fourth single released since then, and it's the fourth time he has appeared on this chart.

Making his first appearance on the LGBT chart is Bentley Jones, who debuts at #47 with "Lay Down On My Heart". Originally from England but now living in Japan, he sings in both Japanese and English. (Subtitles are provided in both languages.) According to Fandom, Bentley is the very first British musician to ever release a major-label album in Japanese.

Another artist making his first appearance on the LGBT chart is Henry Newbury, who debuts at #50 with "I Thought You'd Know By Now". Henry was a finalist in the Pride's Got Talent competition at last year's London Pride.

Chart positions are based on points assigned from: (1) the previous week's position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) my votes, (4) views on YouTube and the percentage of increase in views from one week to the next, and (5) any votes I've received by Thursday morning. If you'd like to vote for your favorite songs, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info above).

  2. Online translators are great, but "Чужие Судьбы" translates more like "Fate/destiny of the others". Meant more like THE others, but still not aliens.
Alien (as from the space) is "инопланетянин", чужой is "stranger".
