Chart Week 14 of 2021: Week of 4th April

Each week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 videos by LGBT artists from around the world.

Chart Week #14 of 2021: Week of 4th April

Chart notes:
American singer Daya (who's originally from Pennsylvania) takes over the top of the LGBT chart this week with "Bad Girl", climbing one notch from last week's #2 position. Daya won a Grammy in 2017 for Best Dance Recording (for the single "Don't Let Me Down", a collaboration with The Chainsmokers) before coming out as bisexual in 2018. "Bad Girl" is currently at #27 on the official U.S. radio airplay chart and at #47 in Canada according to MediaBase. Over the past seven days, the video for "Bad Girl" has gained an additional 190,088 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 12.07% over the previous week).

Three videos move up into the Top 10 this week. California singer Michael Medrano moves up 4 spots to #8 with "Sugar". Brazilian musician Jão rises 9 places to #9 with "Coringa". And finally, Australian vocalist Betty Who climbs 10 notches to #10 with "I Love You Always Forever".

Nine songs fall off the chart this week to make way for nine new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Traviesa" by Mexican singer Raymix, entering the chart at #31. The Spanish-language track, whose title translates to "Naughty" in English, is a collaboration with Mexican composer Horacio Palencia and Mexican rapper Aczino. Over the past week, the video for "Traviesa" has gained an additional 339,826 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 21.65% over the week prior).

Further down the chart, we have debuts from Norway, the USA, France, and Sweden:
  • Baywud (from California, USA)
  • Bilal Hassani (from France)
  • Jaimie Wilson (from Florida, USA)
  • Trixie Mattel (from Wisconsin, USA)
  • Astrid S. (from Norway)
  • Ruben (from Norway)
  • Jordy (originally from Illinois, USA)
  • Oscar Zia (from Sweden)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's chart position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past seven days, (4) percentage of increase in views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Wednesday at 12 noon (California time). If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBT artist and must be available on YouTube.

Note: For the past couple of weeks, I've had to post the chart & playlist a couple of days late due to frequent internet outages. (This was due to ongoing construction projects in my building, which have kept knocking the routers offline for prolonged periods.) Next week, I will try to get back onto the usual schedule of publishing on weekends.
