Chart Week 16 of 2021: Week of 18th April

Each week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 videos by LGBT artists from around the world.

Chart Week #16 of 2021: Week of 18th April

Chart notes:
It's a second week at #1 for German band Tokio Hotel on the LGBT chart, as "White Lies" hangs onto the top spot. The track is featured in the opening sequence for the current season of Germany's Next Top Model (which is hosted by Heidi Klum, the wife of Tokio Hotel's guitarist Tom Kaulitz). Over the past seven days, the video for "White Lies" has gained an additional 265,802 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 9.78% over the previous week).

Three videos move up into the Top 10 this week. American singer Baywud (from Los Angeles, California) climbs 10 notches to #5 with "All Together Now". Australian vocalist Sia re-enters the Top 10 with "Floating Through Space", a former #1 that rebounds 6 places to #7 this week. And finally, Mexican musician Raymix moves up 7 spots to #9 with "Traviesa".

Eleven songs fall off the chart this week to make way for eleven new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Angels Like You" by American singer Miley Cyrus (who's originally from Tennessee), entering the chart at #32. When the track was first released, many of Miley's fans speculated that the lyrics seem to be about Miley's ex-girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter. (They split up after dating for one month in the summer of 2019, although they have been friends for years.) The music video was recorded around the same time as Miley's appearance at the Super Bowl and features an audience of vaccinated healthcare workers. Over the past week, the video for "Angels Like You" has gained an additional 1,750,426 YouTube views (which is an increase of 12.44% over the week prior).

Further down the chart, we have 9 more debuts from Australia, the USA, Israel, Colombia, England, and Germany:
  • Lil Nas X (from Georgia, USA)
  • Harel Skaat (from Israel)
  • Isaac Dunbar (from Massachusetts, USA)
  • Esteman (from Colombia)
  • Kat Cunning (from Oregon, USA)
  • Shura (from England, UK)
  • Heidi N Closet (from North Carolina, USA)
  • Leopold (from Germany)
  • May-A (from Australia)
  • Alfie Arcuri (from Australia)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's chart position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past seven days, (4) percentage of increase in YouTube views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Wednesday at 12 noon (California time). If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBT artist & must be available on YouTube.
