Chart Week 15 of 2021: Week of 11th April

Each week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 videos by LGBT artists from around the world.

Chart Week #15 of 2021: Week of 11th April

Chart notes:
German rock quartet Tokio Hotel captures the #1 spot on the LGBT chart this week with "White Lies", a collaboration with German EDM duo Vize. According to Wikipedia, the track has already made it onto the official charts of five different countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, and Russia). Lead singer Bill Kaulitz has said that he doesn't want to label his sexuality, but he describes himself as a member of the LGBT community. In January 2021, Bill publicly revealed during an interview with German magazine Der Spiegel that he had been in a relationship with both a man and a woman. Over the past seven days, the video for "White Lies" has gained an additional 181,864 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 7.17% over the previous week).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 this week. Chilean singer Nick Bolt rises 11 spots to land at #7 with "Te Podría Encantar". American vocalist Rebecca Black is getting back together with her "Girlfriend" at #8. English quartet Steps climb 12 notches to reach #9 with "To the Beat of My Heart". And finally, Norwegian trio Keiino move up 7 more places to #10 with "Monument".

Ten songs fall off the chart this week to make way for ten new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Good Man" by American country singer Fancy Hagood (who's originally from Arkansas, but now resides in Tennessee), entering the chart at #36. Fancy (whose real name is Jake) grew up singing in church and taught himself how to play piano as a teenager. His latest album is intended to be autobiographical, as he explained in a recent interview with The Boot: "I'm embracing who I am as a person. These songs show me, Fancy Hagood, living boldly and writing about my experiences as a queer man in the South." Over the past week, the video for "Good Man" has gained an additional 132 YouTube views (which is an increase of 12.85% over the previous week).

Further down the chart, we have 9 more debuts from Canada, the USA, and Germany:
  • LP (originally from New York, USA)
  • Theo Tams (from Alberta, Canada)
  • Blake McGrath (from Ontario, Canada)
  • PrettiBoiRoq (from North Carolina, USA)
  • Finn Ronsdorf (from Germany)
  • Todrick Hall (originally from Texas, USA)
  • Siena Liggins (from Michigan, USA)
  • Rilan (from Louisiana, USA)
  • Lucy And La Mer (from California, USA)
Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's chart position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past 7 days, (4) percentage of increase in YouTube views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Wednesday at 12 noon (California time). If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBT artist & they must be available on YouTube.
