Chart Week 23 of 2021: Week of 6th June

Every week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBT artists from around the world.

Chart Week #23 of 2021: Week of 6th June

Chart notes:
English DJ/drag queen Jodie Harsh gets her first #1 on the LGBT chart this week with "My House", rising one notch from last week. Jodie (whose real name is James Clarke) signed a deal with Warner Records back in February, and "My House" is her first official single with that label. The video features 61 drag queens from every corner of the United Kingdom, including some who've appeared on this chart previously themselves (such as Divina De Campo, Blu Hydrangea, Baga Chipz, and Vinegar Strokes). The track is a remake of the 1985 hit "In My House" by the Mary Jane Girls. Over the past seven days, the video for "My House" has gained an additional 35,586 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 8.25% over the previous week).

Three videos move up into the Top 10 this week, two of which are former #1 songs (both by American artists) that fell back and are now rising again: Lil Nas X's "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" is back up to #7, and LP's "One Last Time" comes in at #10. The third video joining them in the Top 10 this week is "Favourite Song" by Irish singer/songwriter Tim Chadwick, climbing 9 more places to reach #9.

Eleven songs fall off the chart this week to make way for eleven new songs. The highest debut of the week was "I Kissed Someone (It Wasn't You)" by English vocalist Dodie, entering the chart at #29. Dodie (whose real name is Dorothy Clark) came out publicly as bisexual in 2016. She started off her career about 10 years ago by releasing self-produced music videos to her YouTube channel, followed by three independent EP releases, and she's now released her first full-length studio album (which is entitled Build a Problem and was officially released on May 7th). The album has already reached #3 on the official British album chart, and has reached #4 in the USA on the Billboard Folk Albums chart. Over the past week, the video for "I Kissed Someone (It Wasn't You)" has gained an additional 2,746,915 YouTube views (which is an astounding increase of 341.71% over the week prior!).

Further down the chart, we have 10 more debuts from LGBT artists based in the USA, Brazil, Norway, Colombia, and Canada:
  • Jake Wesley Rogers (from Missouri, USA)
  • Renan Pitanga (from Brazil)
  • Girl In Red (from Norway)
  • Chloe Moriondo (from Michigan, USA)
  • Javier Ramírez (from Colombia)
  • Mila Jam (from Illinois, USA)
  • Gregory Dillon (from New Hampshire, USA)
  • Shawnee Kish (from Ontario, Canada)
  • Jake Jacob (from Massachusetts, USA)
  • Taylor Bennett (from Illinois, USA)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's chart position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past seven days, (4) percentage of increase in YouTube views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Thursday at 12 noon (California time). If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBT artist & must be available on YouTube.
