Chart notes:
Swedish singer Darin reaches #1 on the LGBT chart at midweek with "Superstar", moving up 1 more place from the weekend's #2 position. This is his first single to be released since "Holding Me More", which spent two consecutive weeks at #1 on this chart back in December 2021. Speaking in the May 2022 edition of Retro Pop, Darin -- who came out as gay in 2020 -- opened up on how embracing his sexuality has influenced his new music. "Right now I feel more free," he said. "A lot has happened personally and artistically that I haven't ever shown to the world yet. I'm hoping my new music can somehow also help others see a light at the end of the tunnel. A disco light." Over the past three days, the video for "Superstar" has gained an additional 8,145 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 9.09% since the weekend's chart).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 at midweek. Italian singer Michel Bravi climbs 6 notches to #5 with "Zodiaco". Australian singer Kylie Minogue rises 5 spots to #8 with "Can't Get You Out Of My Head (Peggy Gou's Midnight Remix)". American artist Todrick Hall (from Plainview, Texas) gains another 3 places to reach #9 with "Pre-Madonna". They're joined in the Top 10 by Ukrainian singer Artem Pyvovarov, who's moving up 5 positions to #10 with "Dumi".

Seven songs fall off the chart to make way for seven new songs. The highest debut at midweek was "Do It Better" by German DJ/producer Felix Jaehn, entering the chart at #35. The track features vocals from German singer Zoe Wees. Over the past half-week, the video for "Do It Better" has gained an additional 102,284 YouTube views (which is an increase of 8.12% over the previous chart period).

Further down the chart, we have 6 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from England, the U.S.A., and North Macedonia:
  • Jamie Hannah (from England, UK)
  • Calum Scott (from England, UK)
  • Allison Ponthier (from Texas, USA)
  • Halsey (from New Jersey, USA)
  • Demi Lovato (from Texas, USA)
  • Vasil Garvanliev (from North Macedonia)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new songs are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
