Chart notes:
Swedish singer/songwriter Tove Lo ascends to the top spot on Tad's LGBT Music Chart at midweek with "Borderline", moving up one more place from the weekend's #2 position. The video continues the storyline from "No One Dies From Love", in which Tove falls in love with a female robot named Annie and eventually dumps her for a new robot. In the clip for "Borderline", Tove falls in love with a crash-test dummy who kidnaps her and ends up killing Tove in a fiery car crash. At the end of the visual, the crash-test dummy is revealed to be Annie in disguise. "'Borderline' is a song about being on the edge of love," Tove said. "The drama you cause inside yourself and with another person if you feel insecure. You test them. This song has existed for a long time and I've always felt it was incredibly special so getting to release it now has sort of a full-circle feeling. Maybe that's why it was the perfect song for Annie's revenge video." Over the past three days, the video for "Borderline" has gained an additional 71,682 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 1.75% since the weekend's chart).

Three videos move up into the Top 10 at midweek. British singer Jessie Ware (from London, England) climbs 5 notches to #7 with "Pearls". British singer/songwriter Sam Smith (from Hertfordshire, England) rises 3 spots to #8 with "I'm Not Here to Make Friends". They're joined in the Top 10 by American singer/songwriter Halsey (from Washington Township, New Jersey), who leaps ahead 10 places to #10 with "Die 4 Me".

Six songs fall off the chart to make way for six new songs. The midweek chart features 6 debuts by LGBTQ artists from the U.S.A., Spain, Italy, and Brazil:
  • David Rees (from Spain)
  • Boygenius (from California, U.S.A.)
  • Immanuel Casto (from Italy)
  • Davi Bandeira (from Brazil)
  • Hayden Joseph (from South Carolina, U.S.A.)
  • Demi Lovato (from Texas, U.S.A.)

Chart positions are determined by a system of points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the email address below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
