Chart notes:
The record-breaking collaboration from American singers Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus (entitled "Old Town Road") has now officially reached the #1 spot on the LGBT chart. In the USA, the song spent 19 weeks at the #1 position of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and that makes it the longest-lasting #1 song ever in the history of that chart (which Billboard began publishing in 1958). At the end of June, Lil Nas X became the first artist ever to come out as gay while at #1 on the Billboard chart. According to Wikipedia, the song has also reached #1 in 19 other countries

The remainder of the Top Five this week are: gay Brazilian singer Silva (climbing 2 spots to #2), the collaboration between gay German DJ/producer Felix Jaehn and gay English vocalist Calum Scott (slipping back 2 places to #3), bisexual English singer Anne-Marie (moving up 7 notches to #4), and bisexual American singer Bebe Rexha (rising 3 spots to #5).

Eight songs fell off the chart this week to make way for eight new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Buona (Cattiva) Sorte" by Italian singer Tiziano Ferro, coming in at #25. Tiziano is one of the best-selling artists in Italy, having had two albums certified as diamond and selling out stadiums while on tour. He came out publicly as gay in 2010.

Four artists (Tiziano Ferro, Orville Peck, Shura, and Matilda) are making their very first appearances on the LGBT chart this week. An additional four artists (MNEK, Esteman, Mila Jam, and Api Music) are returning to the chart with brand-new videos.

Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past 7 days, (4) percentage of increase in views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Thursday morning. If you'd like to vote for your favorite songs, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info above).
