Chart Week #1 of 2021: Week of 3rd January

Chart notes:
Brooklyn musician Claud captures the top spot on the LGBT chart this week with "Gold", climbing three more notches to #1. Claud identifies as non-binary and prefers the pronouns "they/them". The whimsical video is about contradictions, featuring an etiquette instructor attempting to teach a group of imaginary creatures to learn proper manners so that they can assimilate into society. Over the past seven days, the video for "Gold" has gained an additional 14,138 YouTube views (which is a very impressive increase of 14.42% over the previous week).

Fourteen songs fell off the chart this week to make way for fourteen new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Prisoner" by American singer Miley Cyrus and English vocalist Dua Lipa, entering the chart at #25. The track interpolates portions of the melody from the 1981 hit "Physical" by Olivia Newton-John. Over the past week, the video for "Prisoner" has gained an additional 3,703,354 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 9.73% over the week prior).

Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's chart position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past seven days, (4) percentage of increase in YouTube views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Wednesday at 12 noon (California time).
