Chart Week 02 of 2021: Week of 10th January

Chart Week #2 of 2021: Week of 10th January

Chart notes:
Dutch musician Dotan is at the top of the LGBT chart this week with "There Will Be a Way", rising three places to the #1 spot. Dotan said the chorus of this song just came to him while he was on the streets of London, and he hastily recorded it onto his phone to try to capture his feelings in that moment. He said, "It was the first day I felt alive again after a dark period. It's a song about celebrating growth." The song hit #1 in Italy after a televised live performance for Pope Francis in Vatican City on Christmas Eve. The video for "There Will Be a Way" gained an additional 66,732 views on YouTube over the past seven days, which is an increase of 13.60% over the previous week.

Eight songs fell off the chart this week to make way for eight new songs. The highest debut of the week was "How Low Can You Go?" by American singer LP, entering the chart at #29. LP says the song was inspired by "some wild and sordid nights I've experienced over the years and the people I've met. Sometimes, even if you only spend a very small amount of time with someone, they leave an impression on you." Over the past week, the video for "How Low Can You Go?" has gained an additional 159,837 YouTube views (which is an increase of 6.37% over the week prior).

Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's chart position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past seven days, (4) percentage of increase in YouTube views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Wednesday at 12 noon (California time).
