Each week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 videos by LGBT artists from around the world.
Chart Week #13 of 2021: Week of 28th March
Chart notes:
Australian singer/songwriter Sia hits #1 on the LGBT chart this week with "Floating Through Space", a collaboration with French DJ/producer David Guetta. Sia received a lot of criticism earlier this year for her film Music, particularly about its cartoonish portrayal of autism. However, that hasn't seemed to have any effect on her musical career. Over the past seven days, the video for "Floating Through Space" has gained an additional 1,294,819 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 14.28% over the previous week).
Three videos move up into the Top 10 this week. Belgian-French vocalist Jérémy Frerot rebounds back into the Top 10 with his former #1 hit "Un Homme", going back up 3 spots to #8. English singer Rita Ora climbs 5 notches to #7 with "Bang". And finally, American singer Demi Lovato moves up 8 spots to #9 with "What Other People Say".
Ten songs fall off the chart this week to make way for ten new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Fellowship" by American singer Serpentwithfeet, entering the chart at #28. Serpentwithfeet (whose real name is Josiah Wise) is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. He was trained in gospel, opera, and classical music from an early age. Serpentwithfeet has already collaborated with some of the biggest names in pop music (including Brockhampton, Björk, Ellie Goulding, and Kanye West). The track is the first single released off his second full-length studio album (which is entitled Deacon, and was released on March 26th). Over the past week, the video for "Fellowship" has gained an additional 18,528 YouTube views (which is an increase of 10.97% over the week prior).
Further down the chart, we have debuts from Norway, the USA, England, Chile, and Argentina:
- Keiino (from Norway)
- Nick Bolt (from Chile)
- Steps (from England, UK)
- John Duff (from California, USA)
- Big Daddy Karsten (from Norway)
- Anna Akana (from California, USA)
- Juan Pablo Di Pace (from Argentina)
- Queen Bayard (from England, UK)
- Billy Mick (from Florida, USA)
Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's chart position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past seven days, (4) percentage of increase in YouTube views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Wednesday at 12 noon (California time). If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBT artist & must be available on YouTube.
