Chart Week 09 of 2021: Week of 28th February

Chart Week #9 of 2021: Week of 28th February

Chart notes:
American singer/songwriter Greyson Chance (originally from Oklahoma) takes over the top position on the LGBT chart this week with "Holy Feeling", climbing three more notches to the #1 spot. After rising to fame as a child with his viral YouTube videos and multiple appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Greyson came out publicly as gay in July 2017 via an Instagram post. The video for "Holy Feeling" has gained an additional 14,948 views on YouTube over the past seven days (which is an increase of 6.84% over the previous week).

Three videos move up into the Top 10 this week. English quintet The Irrepressibles rise 5 spots to #6 with "Two Men in Love". Two American singers based in Los Angeles -- Jordy (originally from Illinois) and Oston (originally from Utah) -- climb 6 notches to #7 with their collaboration "Tomorrow". And finally, Dutch musician Dotan also re-enters the Top 10 with "There Will Be a Way", which has already reached #1 on this chart but rebounds back up to #8 this week.

Six songs fell off the chart this week to make way for six new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Love is Life" by Japanese musician/model Taichi Mukai, entering the chart at #37. I was first introduced to his music by my friends at Gay Music Chart (which is currently on hiatus). Over the past seven days, the video for "Love is Life" has gained an additional 31,136 YouTube views (which is an increase of 21.10% over the previous week).

Further down the chart, we also have a debut from Silk City -- the British/American EDM supergroup comprised of Diplo (originally from Mississippi) and Mark Ronson (from England) -- entering the chart at #42. Another collaboration follows them at #45: Australian vocalist Sia, who's paired up with French DJ David Guetta on "Floating Through Space". The other LGBT artists making their way onto the Top 50 this week are Pablo Alborán (from Spain), Jack Nathan Harding (from Texas), G Flip (from Australia), and Mxmtoon (from California).

Each week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 videos by LGBT artists from around the world. Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's chart position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past 7 days, (4) percentage of increase in YouTube views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Wednesday at noon (California time). If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBT artist & must be available on YouTube.
