Chart Week 11 of 2021: Week of 14th March

Each week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 videos by LGBT artists from around the world.

Chart Week #11 of 2021: Week of 14th March

Chart notes:
American singer Zolita (who was born and raised in Calabasas, California) gets her first #1 on the LGBT chart this week with "Bedspell". Zolita has appeared on the LGBT chart multiple times, but has never broken into the Top 10 until now. This song has made a remarkable comeback, just on the strength of YouTube views alone -- she appeared to peak at #17 back in February and then started to fall backward on the chart, but then the video started gaining more points through YouTube views (including one week where she gained more than 500%) and managed to reverse her decline so much that it catapulted her right back up to #5 last week. Zolita came out as a lesbian at an early age, and she incorporates witchcraft themes into all of her videos. Over the past seven days, the video for "Bedspell" has gained an additional 1,335,164 views on YouTube (which is a phenomenal increase of 61.12% over the previous week).

Five videos move up into the Top 10 this week. French singer Jérémy Frerot (who's already spent two weeks at #1) bounces back from #11 to #5 this week with "Un Homme". Australian vocalist Sia climbs 12 notches to #7 with "Floating Through Space". Palestinian singer Bashar Murad goes up from #21 to #8 with "Maskhara", which is the only Arabic song on the chart. Japanese musician Taichi Mukai moves up 8 spots to #9 with "Love is Life". And finally, Canadian quartet rIVerse (from Toronto, Ontario) rises five notches to #10 with "BaeBeeBoo".

Ten songs fall off the chart this week to make way for ten new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Wish You the Best" by American singer/songwriter Joy Oladokun (who's originally from Arizona, but now resides in Tennessee), entering the chart at #34. The track is a collaboration with American vocalist Jensen McRae (from California). Joy identifies as an LGBT musician, and describes herself as both "queer" and "gay". Over the past week, the video for "Wish You the Best" has gained an additional 3,251 YouTube views (which is an increase of 27.99% over the week prior).

Further down the chart, we have debuts from the USA, England, Australia, Germany, and South Africa:
  • Sam Fischer (from Australia) and Demi Lovato (originally from New Mexico, USA)
  • Slayyyter (originally from Missouri, USA)
  • Route 94 and L. Devine (both from England)
  • Rayvon Owen (from Virginia, USA)
  • Lauren Sanderson (from Indiana, USA)
  • Leopold (from Germany)
  • Nasty Cherry (from England & California, USA)
  • GoodLuck (from South Africa)
  • Alexmaax (originally from New York, USA)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's chart position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past seven days, (4) percentage of increase in YouTube views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Wednesday at 12 noon (California time). If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBT artist & must be available on YouTube.
