Chart Week 21 of 2021: Week of 23rd May

Every week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBT artists from around the world.

Chart Week #21 of 2021: Week of 23rd May

Chart notes:
American singer Miley Cyrus (who's originally from Tennessee) claims the #1 spot on the LGBT chart with "Angels Like You", moving up one spot from last week. Miley has just announced concert dates for later this year, including a headlining spot at Lollapalooza in Chicago (in late July and early August) and at the Austin City Limits Festival (in October). At the time of this track's release, it was widely speculated in the press that the lyrics seem to be about Miley's ex-girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter. The single has already reached #1 in Belgium, and the Top 40 in multiple countries (including Argentina, the Netherlands, and Iceland). The music video was filmed around the same time as Miley's February performance at the Super Bowl, and includes footage from that event. Over the past seven days, the video for "Angels Like You" has gained an additional 715,907 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 3.36% over the previous week).

Two videos move up into the Top 10 this week, both of which are from American artists. Bebe Rexha (from Brooklyn, New York) climbs 12 notches to #7 with "Sabotage", and Demi Lovato (who's originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico) gains 9 places to reach #9 with "Dancing With the Devil".

Eleven songs fall off the chart this week to make way for eleven new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Cuack" by Mexican band Wapayasos, entering the chart at #31. Wapayasos originally started out performing for children in their hometown of Guadalajara, and they still use a bit of the clown makeup from those early days. However, their fan base today tends to be mostly young adult men. They often give performances at the gay clubs in Jalisco, and some of the band's members are also performers in gay porn. Over the past week, the video for "Cuack" has gained an additional 19,143 YouTube views (which is an increase of 5.59% over the week prior).

Further down the chart, we have 10 more debuts from Mexico, the USA, Iceland, Norway, England, Brazil, and Spain:
  • Vök (from Iceland)
  • Ruben (from Norway)
  • Jaime Kohen (from Mexico)
  • Years And Years (from England, UK)
  • Dandelot (from New York, USA)
  • Durand Bernarr (originally from Ohio, USA)
  • Davis Mallory (from Georgia, USA)
  • Rodrigo Massa (originally from Brazil, but now residing in Mexico)
  • Chumina Power (from Spain)
  • Joelle (from Florida, USA)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's chart position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past 7 days, (4) percentage of increase in YouTube views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Thursday at 12 noon (California time). If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBT artist & must be available on YouTube.
