Chart Week 48 of 2021: 28th November

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart Week #48 of 2021: Week of 28th November

Chart notes:
Brazilian singer Jão takes over the top of the LGBT chart this weekend, as "Não Te Amo" reaches the #1 position. Jão's sexuality has been the subject of speculation since the beginning of his career, but he revealed in November 2020 that he is attracted to people "regardless of gender" although he said at the time that he chooses not to attach a label to himself. In August 2021, he decided to come out publicly as bisexual. Over the past four days, the video for "Não Te Amo" has gained an additional 305,095 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 6.01% since the midweek's chart).

Three videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend, including a return from a former #1 hit: Brazilian drag queen Gloria Groove rebounds back up 3 spots to #10 with "A Queda". Japanese quintet Tokyo Gegegay climbs 4 notches to #7 with "Outsider". They're joined in the Top 10 by English vocalist MNEK, who rises 9 places to reach #9 with "Who You Are".

Ten songs fall off the chart to make way for ten new songs. The highest debut this weekend was "Starlight" by Irish quartet Westlife, entering the chart at #32. In August 2005, singer Markus Feehily revealed during an interview with the British tabloid The Sun that he is gay. With a total of fifteen #1 appearances, Markus has earned the honor of being the highest-charting Irish LGBTQ performer on the official U.K. singles charts. Over the past half-week, the video for "Starlight" has gained an additional 187,062 YouTube views (which is a huge increase of 15.76% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 9 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from Australia, the U.S.A., Chile, Iceland, Spain, Mexico, and New Zealand:
  • Kevibraz (from Chile)
  • Vök (from Iceland)
  • David Rees (from Spain)
  • Hayden Joseph (from South Carolina, USA)
  • Miki Ratsula (from California, USA) & Lauren Sanderson (from Indiana, USA)
  • Billy Mick (from Florida, USA)
  • Jaime Kohen (from Mexico)
  • Tin (from Australia)
  • Ben Hazlewood (originally from New Zealand & now residing in Australia)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
