Midweek Chart: 17th November 2021

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Midweek Chart for 17th November, 2021

Chart notes:
Brazilian drag queen Gloria Groove hangs onto the #1 spot on the LGBT chart at midweek with "A Queda". Translated into English, the title means "The Fall" and it was inspired by the experiences of bisexual Brazilian rapper/singer Karol Conká on Big Brother Brasil 21 earlier this year, when she was evicted from the household with a record-breaking 99.17% of the popular vote. Not only was this rejection the biggest in the history of TV reality shows worldwide, the rapper suffered through hatred and attacks on social media afterwards that were so severe that she was afraid to go out in public. Gloria took her inspiration for the "circus of horrors" theme in her video from multiple sources, including the television anthology miniseries American Horror Story. Over the past three days, the video for "A Queda" has gained an additional 3,192,064 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 7.98% since the weekend's chart).

Three videos move up into the Top 10 at midweek. Brazilian musician Jão climbs 5 notches to #6 with "Não Te Amo". English vocalist Becky Hill rises 7 places to #7 with "My Heart Goes (La Di Da)". They're joined in the Top 10 by Colombian singer Esteman, who moves up 5 positions to #8 with "Milagrosa".

Twelve songs fall off the chart to make way for twelve new songs. The highest debut was "She Knows It" by American singer/songwriter Maggie Lindemann, entering the chart at #35. Originally from Texas and now residing in California, Maggie came out publicly as bisexual in 2016. According to SoundCharts, the track has already appeared on the digital/streaming charts of 12 different countries & has reached the Top 10 in three of them (#5 in Saudi Arabia, #7 in Chile, and #10 in Finland). The song has also appeared on the radio airplay charts of 4 countries (the U.S.A., Finland, Australia, and the U.K.). Over the past half-week, the video for "She Knows It" has gained an additional 170,525 YouTube views (which is a huge increase of 19.47% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 11 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from the U.S.A., Japan, Belgium, England, India, and Scotland:
  • Tokyo Gegegay (from Japan)
  • Chaz Cardigan (from Kentucky, USA)
  • Hippo Campus (from Minnesota, USA)
  • Oscar And The Wolf (from Belgium)
  • Danny Blu (from New York, USA)
  • White Lies (from England, UK)

  • Sara 'N' Junbug (from Scotland, UK)
  • Phntms (from Pennsylvania, USA)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views & votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
