Midweek Chart: 3rd November 2021

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Midweek Chart for 3rd November, 2021

Chart notes:
Australian singer/songwriter Flowerkid has the new #1 video on the LGBT midweek chart with "Vodka Orange Juice", climbing two more spots from the weekend's #3 position. Flowerkid (whose real name is Flynn Sant) told NME that the track's lyrics capture his own experiences as a transgender teenager, specifically in dealing with transphobia in his daily life. "It was hugely cathartic writing this song," he recalls. "If you are listening and you feel like you are not accepted for who you are," he continued, "please know that you are loved. My heart goes out to all of you." Over the past three days, the video for "Vodka Orange Juice" has gained an additional 44,486 views on YouTube (which is a very impressive increase of 16.09% since the weekend's chart!).

Three videos move up into the Top 10, two of which happen to be from American acts: drag queen Trinity The Tuck (from Springville, Alabama) climbs 7 notches to #4 with "Call Me Mommy, Daddy", while vocalist LP (from Long Island, New York) soars ahead 10 more places to #9 with "Fighter". They're joined in the Top 10 by Ukrainian artist Maruv, rising 7 spots to land at #10 with "Rich B*tch".

Thirteen songs fall off the chart to make way for thirteen new songs. The highest debut was "A Queda" by Brazilian drag queen Gloria Groove, entering the chart at #33. According to Rio Times Online, Gloria just recently broke a record on the Spotify Global Chart to become the drag queen with the most monthly listeners worldwide. Over the past month, her tracks have been streamed by more than 4 million people on that platform, just barely surpassing her fellow Brazilian drag performer Pabllo Vittar (who has now dropped back to the #2 position globally among all drag acts). Over the past half-week, the video for "A Queda" has gained an additional 7,404,390 YouTube views (which is a massive increase of 35.17% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 12 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from England, the U.S.A., Spain, Poland, Canada, and Scotland:
  • Pablo Alborán (from Spain)
  • Jakk Flynn (from California, USA)
  • Autoheart (from England, UK)
  • Alaska Thunderfuck (from Pennsylvania, USA)
  • Walk The Moon (from Ohio, USA)
  • Ofelia (from Poland)
  • Bobby Newberry, Rhea Litré, & Sam J Garfield (all from California, USA)
  • Cameron Hawthorn (from Kansas, USA)
  • Dorian Electra (from Texas, USA) & ElyOtto (from Alberta, Canada)
  • Gia Woods (from California, USA)
  • Joesef (from Scotland, UK)
  • Blithe (from England, UK)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
