Chart notes:
American pop duo Middlespoon (from Austin, Texas) takes over the #1 spot on the LGBT chart at midweek with "Crush On U", moving up one more place from the weekend's #2 position. The band is comprised of DJ/producer Jinx McGee and vocalist Alexander Beats, and their official website describes them as "steering pop music away from its heteronormative traditions. The duo's fresh take on issues from polyamory to patriarchy to transphobia are layered over whimsical bouncy beats that could turn any protest march into a block party". Over the past three days, the video for "Crush On U" has gained an additional 7,833 views on YouTube (which is a huge increase of 7.71% since the weekend's chart!).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 at midweek, including a return from a former #1 hit: American singer/songwriter Pink (from Doylestown, Pennsylvania) rebounds back up one position to #10 with "Irrelevant". Canadian musician Carly Rae Jepsen (from Mission, British Columbia) climbs 8 notches to #6 with "Beach House". American actor/singer Joshua Bassett (from Oceanside, California) leaps ahead 13 spots to #8 with "Smoke Slow". They're joined in the Top 10 by American rapper Blimes Brixton (from San Francisco, California), who's rising 6 places to #9 with "Soonish".

Ten songs fall off the chart to make way for ten new songs. The highest debut at midweek was "Can't Do Better" by transgender German singer/songwriter Kim Petras, entering the chart at #36. The track was released in 2018, but Kim has just released a new video for the song which premiered on YouTube on August 1st and is comprised of clips submitted by her fans. Over the past half-week, the video for "Can't Do Better" has gained an additional 1,488 YouTube views (which is a huge increase of 5.60% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 9 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from Germany, the U.S.A., Poland, Belize, Spain, and Sweden:
  • Ofelia (from Poland)
  • Frankie Simone (from Oregon, USA)
  • Billy Porter (from Pennsylvania, USA) & Shea Diamond (from Michigan, USA)
  • Kidd Kenn (from Illinois, USA) & Delli Boe (originally from Belize & now residing in California, USA)
  • Badmómzjay (from Germany)
  • Willow Smith (from California, USA)
  • Tommy Boi (from California, USA)
  • Chumina Power (from Spain)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
