Chart notes:
English singer/songwriter Rina Sawayama claims the #1 spot on the LGBT chart at midweek with "Hold the Girl", moving up one more place from the weekend's #2 position. Rina was born in Japan, but she relocated to England with her family at the age of five. This is the third single to be released from her second full-length studio album Hold the Girl, which debuted at #3 on the official U.K. album chart and is now the highest-charting album by a Japanese-born artist in the history of the U.K. charts. The video shows Rina stuck in a time loop in the bounds of a 19-century farmhouse until she finally breaks free. Over the past three days, the video for "Hold the Girl" has gained an additional 59,579 views on YouTube (which is a huge increase of 5.25% since the weekend's chart!).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 at midweek, three of which happen to be from American acts: Mark Tuan (from Arcadia, California) at #7 with "Far Away", Tommy Boi (from Sacramento, California) at #8 with "Personal", and GraveyardGuy (from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) at #9 with "Kiss My Self". They're joined in the Top 10 by Australian musician G Flip, who's climbing one more notch to #10 with "Kiwi".

Nine songs fall off the chart to make way for nine new songs. The highest debut at midweek was "Faded Like a Feeling" by Canadian duo Tegan And Sara, entering the chart at #37. In the video, the two sisters (originally from Calgary, Alberta) are singing on a swingset in a riverside park and staring pensively out towards the water as they ruminate on past relationships. Tegan shared in an Instagram post that "I wrote three versions of the song before we recorded it. Sara kept pressing me to dig deeper. What started out as a love song turned into something entirely different... Sometimes writing about something you have isn't half as interesting as writing about something you've lost." Over the past half-week, the video for "Faded Like a Feeling" has gained an additional 4,271 YouTube views (which is an increase of 4.81% over the previous chart period).

Further down the chart, we have 8 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from England, Chile, the U.S.A., Turkey, and Denmark:
  • Mabel Matiz (from Turkey)
  • Yungblud (from England, UK)
  • Charli XCX (from England, UK)
  • Barbacius & Yorka (both from Chile)
  • Mø (from Denmark)
  • Becky Hill (from England, UK)
  • Ginger Minj (from Florida, USA) & Brandon Stansell (from Tennessee, USA)
  • Trixie Mattel (from Wisconsin, USA)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
