Chart notes:
There's no change at the very top of the LGBT chart this weekend, as British singer Tom Aspaul (from Wolverhampton, England) holds onto the #1 spot with "Thessaloniki". Tom began his career writing hits for Kylie Minogue, Alex Newell, Saara Aalto, Becky Hill, and many others. The lyrics to "Thessaloniki" tell a tale of running away to a magical place and enjoying the pleasures of the flesh beneath the burning hot sun. He's abandoned the disco sounds of his previous album to delve deeper into Europop sounds from the Balkans, Spain, France, and Greece. Tom explains his love of 1990s Europop by stating "When that music ruled the airwaves, it soundtracked my adolescence, my coming out, my formative years... This album is a celebration of all that." Over the past four days, the video for "Thessaloniki" has gained an additional 125 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 2.09% since the midweek's chart).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend. Brazilian drag duo Pabllo Vittar and Gloria Groove climb 8 notches to #5 with "Ameianoite". Spanish singer David Rees rises 10 spots to #7 with "Comida Rápida". American pop/rock quartet Imagine Dragons (from Las Vegas, Nevada) leaps ahead 11 places to #8 with "Bones (Twocolors Remix)". They're joined in the Top 10 by English singer/songwriter Rina Sawayama, who's moving up 10 more notches to #10 with "Frankenstein".

Seven songs fall off the chart to make way for seven new songs. The highest debut this weekend was "Amigos" by Spanish musician Pablo Alborán, entering the chart at #37. Pablo traveled all the way to Buenos Aires to record the video clip with Argentine pop star María Becerra. In the feel-good song, Pablo and María trade verses about living their best lives in the company of their friends. "I want people to celebrate while listening to the song," Pablo said. "I want them to remember their friends, to remember the happiest times of their lives, and to remember that's what life is all about." Over the past half-week, the video for "Amigos" has gained an additional 922,747 YouTube views (which is an increase of 2.85% over the previous chart period).

Further down the chart, we have 6 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from England, the U.S.A., the Dominican Republic, Japan, and France:
  • Tokischa (from the Dominican Republic)
  • Kailee Morgue (from Arizona, USA)
  • Jordy (originally from Illinois, USA)
  • Bentley Jones (originally from England, UK & now residing in Japan)
  • Nicky Doll (originally from France & now living in New York, USA)
  • Smashby (from England, UK)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
