Chart notes:
Italian musician Tiziano Ferro is on top of the LGBT chart this week, as "Balla Per Me" (a collaboration with Italian singer Jovanotti) moves up three more notches to the #1 position. Tiziano recently announced via his Instagram page that he is working on more new music, including some collaborations with other Italian singers, and he plans to tour Italy again in 2021. Tiziano came out as gay in 2010 during an interview with Vanity Fair. Last year, he married former Warner Brothers consultant Victor Allen in Sabaudia, a small coastal city just to the south of Rome.
Eleven songs fell off the chart this week to make way for eleven new songs. The highest debut of the week was "Sober" by American singer/actor Ryan Cassata, entering the chart at #36. Last month Ryan was one of the headliner acts for the TRANScendent Sounds Fest, a new online transgender music festival that streamed live on YouTube. He will also be appearing next week at OutFest 2020, the largest LGBT film festival in Los Angeles (which is featuring drive-in movies only, due to the pandemic restrictions) in the film Two Eyes. After the movie's premiere on August 30th, it will become available (for a fee) on Vimeo. Ryan came out as transgender in 2007, when he was only 13 years old.
Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's chart position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past seven days, (4) percentage of increase in YouTube views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Wednesday morning. If you'd like to vote for your favorite songs, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info above).
