Chart Week 29 of 2021: Week of 18th July

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart Week #29 of 2021: Week of 18th July

Chart notes:
English singer Girli (whose real name is Milly Toomey) moves up one more notch to #1 this week with "More Than a Friend". Girli describes herself as bisexual, queer, and pansexual. After being forced to cancel a concert tour due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Girli was dropped by her record label (PMR Records). She is currently with an independent label (AllPoints Music) & released her latest EP (entitled Ex Talk) in February 2021. Over the past four days, the video for "More Than a Friend" has gained an additional 22,338 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 4.66% over the previous chart).

Three videos move up into the Top 10, two of which are from American artists (Miley Cyrus climbs 12 spots to #6 with "Believe", and Todrick Hall gains 8 places to reach #8 with "Rainin' Fellas"). Australian musician Troye Sivan re-enters the Top 10 with his former #1 hit "You", going back up 4 notches to #7 this week.

Seven songs fall off the chart to make way for seven new songs. The highest debut was "I'm So Happy" by English vocalist Emily Burns, entering the chart at #40. "I clearly remember the day I wrote 'I'm So Happy'. I went into the studio and I was in the best mood ever," she told Dork magazine. "We started talking about the fear that comes hand-in-hand with overwhelming happiness, the worry that something is bound to go wrong... It's like being on a tightrope and knowing that one wrong move could cause the end of it all." Over the past half-week, the video for "I'm So Happy" has gained an additional 17,748 YouTube views (which is an increase of 22.14% over the chart prior).

Further down the chart, we have 6 more debuts by LGBT artists from the U.S.A., Mexico, Thailand, Denmark, and Colombia:
  • Brothers Osborne (from Maryland, USA)
  • Boy Untitled (from California, USA)
  • Luis Lauro (from Mexico)
  • New Jiew (from Thailand)
  • Asbjørn (from Denmark)
  • Mabiland (from Colombia)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views & votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBT artist & must be available on YouTube.
