Midweek Chart: 21st July 2021

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Midweek Chart for 21st July, 2021

Chart notes:
British singer Girli holds onto the #1 spot for the Midweek Chart with "More Than a Friend". Girli has just announced a new schedule of tour dates for the U.K. and Ireland, starting in November. Over the past three days, the video for "More Than a Friend" has gained an additional 19,587 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 3.90% from the previous chart).

Three videos move up into the Top 10, two of which are from American artists (David Archuleta rises 10 spots to #7 with "Losin' Sleep", while Wrabel climbs 5 more places to #8). Spanish quartet Miss Caffeina joins them in the Top 10, moving up 4 notches to #10 with "Me Voy".

Nine songs fall off the chart to make way for nine new songs. The highest debut was "Better in My Head" by American singer/songwriter Jordy, entering the chart at #28. Jordy recently told Paper magazine that he's felt pressured to write songs about straight relationships, but he always refuses. "As a kid... there weren't many queer artists I had to look up to," he recalls. "As an artist, my biggest concern is making music that is honest to me." Over the past half-week, the video for "Better in My Head" has gained an additional 60,647 YouTube views (which is an increase of 19.95% over the chart prior).

Further down the chart, we have 8 more debuts by LGBT artists from the U.S.A., Sweden, Ukraine, Italy, and Canada:
  • Mila Jam (from Illinois, USA)
  • John Duff (from California, USA)
  • Melissa Etheridge (originally from Kansas, USA)
  • Isak Danielson (from Sweden)
  • Max Barskih (from Ukraine)
  • Mattia Toni (from Italy)
  • Matt Palmer (from California, USA)
  • Priyanka (from Ontario, Canada)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views & votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBT artist & must be available on YouTube.
