Chart Week 06 of 2022: 06 February

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart Week #6 of 2022: Week of 6th February

Chart notes:
English singer/songwriter Years And Years (Olly Alexander) returns to the top of the LGBT chart this weekend with "Sweet Talker", climbing 3 notches from the midweek's #4 position to reclaim the #1 spot for a third nonconsecutive week. According to SoundCharts, the song has reached #1 on the radio airplay charts of two countries (the U.K. and Croatia) and has reached the Top 10 in four others (#2 in Ireland, #3 in Malta, #4 in Japan, and #6 in Hungary). Altogether it has appeared on the radio airplay charts of 51 different countries and has reached as high as #62 on the SoundCharts Global Airplay Chart. Over the past four days, the video for "Sweet Talker" has gained an additional 57,287 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 3.69% since the midweek's chart).

Five videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend. Ukrainian artist Maruv rises 10 notches to #3 with "Destination". Swedish singer/actor Omar Rudberg climbs 12 spots to #6 with "Mi Casa Su Casa". American vocalist Katy Perry jumps 15 places to #7 with "When I'm Gone". American singer/songwriter Wrabel leaps ahead 16 positions to #8 with "Wish You Well". They're joined in the Top 10 by American drag queen Alaska Thunderfuck, who's moving up 7 notches to #9 with "XOXOY2K".

Eleven songs fall off the chart to make way for eleven new songs. The highest debut this weekend was "Flowers" by Brazilian/American singer/songwriter Gabe Furtado, entering the chart at #34. Gabe was born in Brazil, and is currently residing in Los Angeles. The press release that was forwarded to me reads, "Everything, from the song's lyrics to the melody and production, represents his transformation into positive self-acceptance and love, and he wrote this song as a love letter to himself." Over the past half-week, the video for "Flowers" has gained an additional 5,605 YouTube views (which is a massive increase of 26.07% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 10 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from England, the U.S.A., Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, and Sweden:

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
