Midweek Chart: 09 February 2022

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Midweek Chart for 9th February, 2022

Chart notes:
Ukrainian artist Maruv has reached the #1 spot on the LGBT chart with "Destination", moving up 2 more notches from the weekend's #3 position. The track is a collaboration with Mikhail Busin (known under the pseudonym Boosin). The pair have collaborated multiple times before, notably on hits like "Drunk Groove" and "I Want You". The video begins with the singer performing on an aircraft (with Boosin as the pilot) and then the choreography devolves into a bisexual fantasy which turns out to be just a dream from the sleeping pilot. Over the past three days, the video for "Destination" has gained an additional 64,171 views on YouTube (which is a huge increase of 11.42% since the weekend's chart!).

Three videos move up into the Top 10 at midweek. American duo Boy Harsher (from Northampton, Massachusetts) climbs 4 notches to #7 with "Machina". Estonian singer Mr. Levvis rises 7 places to #9 with "Let's Talk About". They're joined in the Top 10 by Spanish singer/songwriter Pablo Alborán, who's moving up 8 positions to #10 with "Castillos De Arena".

Nine songs fall off the chart to make way for nine new songs. The highest debut at midweek was "Ride or Die" by American quintet Hippo Campus (from St. Paul, Minnesota), entering the chart at #36. According to SoundCharts, the track has appeared on the digital/streaming charts of 13 countries and has reached the Top 10 in three of them (#2 in Peru, #2 in New Zealand, and #6 in Portugal). The song has gotten as high as #19 on the SoundCharts Global Streaming Chart. Over the past half-week, the video for "Ride or Die" has gained an additional 38,298 YouTube views (which is a huge increase of 12.00% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 8 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from England, the U.S.A., France, and Mexico:
  • The Xx (from England, UK)
  • Edward Barrow (from France)
  • Blithe (from England, UK)

  • Jessie Paege (from New Jersey, USA)
  • Jesse Y Joy (from Mexico)

If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
