Chart notes:
British musician Mika takes over the #1 spot on the LGBT chart at midweek with "Yo Yo", moving up one more place from the weekend's #2 position. "I wanted to write a song that could make you dance and cry at the same time," Mika commented. He described his latest single as "a song to make the world, in all its harshness, feel better." The track has already appeared on the official radio airplay charts of 42 different countries, reaching #1 in three of them (Lithuania, Belgium, and San Marino) and reaching the Top 10 in eight others (#3 in Germany, #4 in the U.K., #4 in Italy, #5 in Australia, #6 in Bulgaria, #7 in France, #8 in Hong Kong, and #8 in Iceland). Over the past three days, the video for "Yo Yo" has gained an additional 40,705 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 4.95% since the weekend's chart).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 at midweek. American country singer Ty Herndon (from Butler, Alabama) climbs 7 notches to #6 with "Till You Get There". Turkish singer/songwriter Mabel Matiz rises 10 spots to #7 with "Karakol". South Korean singer YooJung gains 4 more places to reach #8 with "Begin". They're joined in the Top 10 by American artists Corvyx and King Vagabond (both from New York City), who are leaping ahead 11 positions to #9 with "Running Up That Hill".

Seven songs fall off the chart to make way for seven new songs. The highest debut at midweek was "Everything Beautiful" by Finnish singer/songwriter Alma, entering the chart at #26. Alma began her career as a contestant on the Finnish television competition Idols in 2013. According to her Wikipedia page, Alma has had six Top 10 hits in her home country of Finland and has reached the charts of multiple other European countries. She's written hits for other artists as well: Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey, Charli XCX, and Tove Lo are just a few of the acts who've recorded Alma's songs. Alma came out publicly as a lesbian in 2019 during an interview with Gay Times. Over the past half-week, the video for "Everything Beautiful" has gained an additional 52,547 YouTube views (which is a massive increase of 25.43% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 6 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from Canada, England, the U.S.A., and Chile:
  • Kevin Y Karla (from Chile)
  • Ria Mae (from Nova Scotia, Canada)
  • Calum Scott (from England, UK)
  • Sharon Needles (from Iowa, USA)
  • The 1975 (from England, UK)
  • Bbno$ (from British Columbia, Canada) & Diplo (from Tennesee, USA)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
