Chart notes:
British musician Benedict Cork (from Hertfordshire, England) reaches the #1 spot on the LGBT chart this weekend with "Dream of You", moving up one more place from last week's #2 position. The track is the debut single off his first full-length album, which is yet untitled and due to be released later this year. In an interview with Billboard Magazine, Benedict stated that he's certainly aware of his position as a queer artist trying to make it in the mainstream music industry. He mentioned other LGBTQ artists who've come out publicly before him (Adam Lambert, Troye Sivan, Sam Smith, and Olly Alexander) and he acknowledged that thanks to them, he no longer feels restricted by his sexuality. Benedict shared, "Because of them, so many more artists can come forward and kind of share their stories and share their voices -- whereas a while ago, it was a bit harder to do so. I'm so lucky." He added that, "People are way more accepting of artists who are super open about their sexuality and their identity." Over the past seven days, the video for "Dream of You" has gained an additional 338 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 3.84% since the previous week).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend, including a return from a former #4 hit: Mexican musician Raymix rebounds back up 7 positions to #10 with "El Final De Nuestra Historia". American rock duo Pvris (from Lowell, Massachusetts) climbs 7 notches to #6 with "Animal". Slovenian artist July Jones (who's currently residing in England) rises 9 spots to #7 with "Muse". They're joined in the Top 10 by a collection of American and British artists (Vincint, Ty Sunderland, Aquaria, Hayley Kiyoko, Kesha, & MNEK), whose collaboration "Taste So Good (The Cann Song)" is leaping ahead 10 places to #8.

Six songs fall off the chart to make way for six new songs. This weekend's chart features 6 debuts by LGBTQ artists from the U.S.A., Hong Kong, China, England, Chile, and Israel:
  • Carpetgarden (from California, U.S.A.)
  • Jackson Wang (originally from Hong Kong & now residing in mainland China)
  • The 1975 (from England, U.K.)
  • Moral Distraída (from Chile)
  • Xtrdnry (from Israel)
  • Chris Housman (from Kansas, U.S.A.)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the email address below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
