Chart Week 03: 15 January 2023

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart week #3 of 2023: Week of 15th January

Chart notes:
American country singer Chris Housman earns his first #1 on the LGBT chart this weekend with "Bible Belt", moving up one more place from the midweek's #2 position. Originally from an extremely small town in Kansas called Hanston with a population of only 200 people, Chris immersed himself in music from a very young age. He plays multiple instruments: fiddle, guitar, piano, upright bass, and even spoons. Chris came out as gay shortly before moving to Nashville to attend Belmont University. Over the past four days, the video for "Bible Belt" has gained an additional 202 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 4.33% since the midweek's chart).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend, including a return from a former #10 hit: American singer/songwriter Andie Case (from Eugene, Oregon) rebounds back up 10 places to reach a new peak of #8 with her cover of Celine Dion's hit "It's All Coming Back to Me Now". Caribbean singer Lycinaïs Jean (from Guadeloupe and Martinique) climbs 7 notches to #4 with "Le Vide". American artist Jessie Paege (from Hackensack, New Jersey) leaps ahead 11 places to #9 with "I Killed Peter Pan". They're joined in the Top 10 by transgender Brazilian artist Jotta A, who's moving up 6 more spots to #10 with "Alasca".

Thirteen songs fall off the chart to make way for thirteen new songs. The weekend chart features 13 debuts by LGBTQ artists from Germany, the U.S.A., Wales, England, Russia, France, Spain, Norway, Canada, South Korea, and Brazil:
  • Luke Evans (from Wales, U.K.)
  • Oliver Sim (from England, U.K.)
  • Wincent Weiss (from Germany)
  • Sansara (from Russia)
  • Cassandre (from France)
  • Guitarricadelafuente (from Spain)
  • Seeb (from Norway)
  • Kimmortal (from British Columbia, Canada)
  • Mill (from South Korea)
  • Carlie Hanson (from Wisconsin, U.S.A.)
  • Yhago Sebaz (from Brazil)
  • Solomon Ray (from California, U.S.A.)
  • Kim Petras (from Germany)

Chart positions are determined by points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the email address below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.

  1. Is Wincent Weiss LGBT? Can you give me information about him?

    1. Hi Luke. His parents are Austrian, but he was born & raised in Germany. Started his career as a contestant on the German version of "Idol". Wincent has long been rumored to be gay or bisexual, but he doesn't like to label his sexuality. If you Google for "Wincent Weiss kiss" you'll see many photos of him kissing men in public. He's been an outspoken advocate for the LGBTQ community since the beginning of his career. He insisted on including same-sex couples in his first music video, for the song "Regenbogen" released in 2015.
