Chart Week 33 of 2021: Week of 15th August

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart Week #33 of 2021: Week of 15th August

Chart notes:
Italian singer Osvaldo Supino reaches the #1 spot on this weekend's LGBT chart with "Lights Down Low". Having released music in multiple languages, he has attracted an international following & he's been invited to perform at Pride events on three continents. In June 2021, Osvaldo was one of the musicians chosen by Spotify for their global "Claim Your Space" campaign, spotlighting LGBTQ artists for Pride Month. Over the past four days, the video for "Lights Down Low" has gained an additional 10,391 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 7.87% over the previous chart).

Three videos move up into the Top 10, all of which happen to be from American LGBT artists. Lil Nas X moves up 8 notches to #4 with "Industry Baby". Conan Gray stays right behind him with "People Watching", which also climbs 8 places to land at #5 this weekend. And finally, a trio of drag queens (Jan Sport, Alaska Thunderfuck, & Peppermint) leap ahead 10 spots to reach #10 with "(Put Your) Gay Hands Up".

Thirteen songs fall off the chart to make way for thirteen new songs. The highest debut was "Crying on the Bathroom Floor" by English vocalist/actor Will Young, entering the chart at #27. It's the title track from his new album, which is currently at #3 on the official U.K. album sales chart, a collection of cover songs that were originally released by female artists. The original version of this track was released by American band Muna in 2017. Over the past half-week, the video for "Crying on the Bathroom Floor" has gained an additional 9,710 YouTube views (which is an increase of 7.82% over the chart prior).

Further down the chart, we have 12 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from Sweden, England, the U.S.A., Canada, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Peru, Colombia, Singapore, Iceland, Chile, Norway, and Mexico:
  • Ariana And The Rose (from New York, USA)

  • Lycinaïs Jean (from Guadeloupe & Martinique)
  • Adrian Bello (from Peru) & Esteman (from Colombia)
  • Darin (from Sweden)

  • Sondre Justad (from Norway)
  • Kyle Motsinger (originally from Illinois, USA)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views & votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBT artist & they must be available on YouTube.
