Chart Week 12 of 2022: 20 March

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart Week #12 of 2022: Week of 20th March

Chart notes:
British artists Charli XCX and Rina Sawayama have the new #1 video on the LGBT chart this weekend with "Beg For You", moving up 2 more places from the midweek's #3 position. The song, which samples the 2007 hit "Cry For You" by Swedish singer September, is currently at #2 on the official U.K. radio airplay chart. Over the past four days, the video for "Beg For You" has gained an additional 182,194 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 6.08% since the midweek's chart).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend. English drag queen Jodie Harsh climbs 9 notches to #5 with "Good Time". American musician Del Ro'Yale (from Richmond, Virginia) rises 7 spots to #6 with "Ghost". British artist Zand (who's originally from Northern Ireland & now resides in England) moves up 5 places to #7 with "I Spit On Your Grave". They're joined in the Top 10 by Scottish singer/songwriter Joesef, who leaps ahead 13 positions to #9 with "It's Been a Little Heavy Lately".

Seven songs fall off the chart to make way for six new songs and one re-entry. The highest debut this weekend was "You're So F*cking Pretty" by American quartet The Regrettes, entering the chart at #32. The lyrics are based on lead singer Lydia Night's feelings for a girl she once had a crush on. In a recent interview with Alternative Press, guitarist Genessa Gariano added, "As a queer person growing up, it definitely felt like there weren't many songs I could relate to fully, and I feel like this song would have been something I would have held really close to my heart as a kid. I hope that happens with other people." Over the past half-week, the video for "You're So F*cking Pretty" has gained an additional 48,949 views on YouTube (which is a massive increase of 20.73% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 5 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from England, the U.S.A., and Israel:
  • The FMs (from New York, USA)
  • Phntms (from Pennsylvania, USA)
  • Mila Jam (from Illinois, USA)
  • Michael Ben David (from Israel)
  • JP Cooper & Ray BLK (both from England, UK)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
