Chart notes:
American rapper/singer Omar Apollo (from Hobart, Indiana) takes over the #1 spot on the LGBT chart this weekend with "Tamagotchi", moving up 3 more places from the midweek's #4 position. This is the second time Omar has reached #1 on the LGBT chart this year, after he achieved #1 with "Invincible" back in March. This track was produced by Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo (the duo better known as The Neptunes), and it's the latest single off his third full-length studio album Ivory (officially released on April 8th). Over the past four days, the video for "Tamagotchi" has gained an additional 30,441 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 7.74% since the midweek's chart).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend, including a return from a former #1 hit: American singer/songwriter King Princess (from Brooklyn, New York) rebounds back up 6 places to #10 with "For My Friends". Israeli musician Netta climbs 7 notches to #7 with "I Love My Nails". American rapper/singer Lauren Sanderson (from Fort Wayne, Indiana) rises 5 spots to #8 with "Tongue Tied". They're joined in the Top 10 by American country duo Brothers Osborne (from Deale, Maryland), who leap ahead 12 positions to #9 with "Headstone".

Seven songs fall off the chart to make way for seven new songs. The highest debut this weekend was "Fall Short" by American rapper/singer Taylor Bennett, entering the chart at #32. Taylor was born and raised in Chicago, and he's the younger brother of Grammy-winning artist Chance The Rapper. In 2017, Taylor came out as bisexual to publicly voice his continued support for the LGBTQ+ community. Taylor says he wants to inspire and celebrate our differences. He hopes to show that "no matter who you like, no matter what race you are, no matter where you are from, it is all about love." Over the past half-week, the video for "Fall Short" has gained an additional 21,671 YouTube views (which is a huge increase of 12.85% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 6 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from the U.S.A., Mexico, England, Canada, and South Korea:
  • Wapayasos (from Mexico)
  • Allison Ponthier (from Texas, USA)
  • Charli XCX (from England, UK)
  • Corvyx (from New York, USA)
  • Xana (from British Columbia, Canada)
  • Lionesses (from South Korea)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist and they must be available on YouTube.
