Chart notes:
Norwegian musician Ruben (from the small island village of Bjarkøy in northern Norway) gets the first #1 spot of the new year on Tad's LGBT Music Chart at midweek with "Milk and Honey", moving up one more place from the weekend's #2 position. Since his debut EP was released in 2016, Ruben has reached a large audience both in Norway and internationally. He won the Spellemannprisen (Norway's version of the Grammy Awards) for Hit of the Year and for Pop Soloist of the Year in 2020. Upon the release of this track, Ruben shared on Facebook that "I wrote this song after a night out where I met an old flame. It's about what went through my head." Over the past half-week, the video for "Milk and Honey" has gained an additional 980 views on YouTube (which is a huge increase of 9.63% since the weekend's chart!).
Four videos move up into the Top Ten at midweek. Australian singer Ethan (who's originally from New Zealand) rises 10 spots to #6 with "Collide". British singer/songwriter Becky Hill (from Worcestershire, England) jumps 11 places to #8 with "Indestructible". Swiss artist Nemo climbs 8 notches to #9 with "Eurostar". They're joined in the Top Ten by American country singer Chris Housman (originally from Hanston, Kansas & now living in Nashville, Tennessee), who's leaping ahead 14 positions to #10 with "Blueneck".
Four songs fall off the chart to make way for four new songs. The midweek chart features 4 debuts by LGBTQ artists from Japan, South Korea, Australia, the U.S.A., and Spain:
- XG (originally from Japan & now residing in South Korea)
- Kylie Minogue (from Australia)
- Bebe Rexha (from New York, USA)
- Álvaro Mayo (from Spain)
