Chart notes:
American-British singer PJ Brennan moves up one more notch this week to capture the #1 spot on the LGBT chart with "40 Days". Originally from Brooklyn, PJ (which is short for his given name, Patrick Joseph) lived in the USA until he was 21 years old and then relocated to England to pursue an acting career there. He's appeared in the British television shows Hollyoaks, Episodes, and Tales of the City. This is the second time PJ has reached #1 on the LGBT chart. (His video for "Tease" hit #1 in 2018.)

The remainder of the Top Five this week are: English singer Mika (slipping a notch to #2), American singer Taylor Swift (holding onto #3 for a 3rd consecutive week), Brazilian singer Jao (climbing 9 spots to #4), and American singer Brian Justin Crum (rising 3 places to #5).

Eleven songs fell off the chart this week to make way for ten new songs and one re-entry. The highest debut of the week was "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, coming in at #20. The track has already spent a record-breaking 18 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the USA, but is just now starting to catch on in other countries as well. Lil Nas X came out as gay at the end of June, making him the very first artist to come out while at #1 on the Billboard chart. It's also worth noting that Billy Ray Cyrus appears on this chart the same week as his daughter Miley (who's at #10 with "Mother's Daughter") and that marks the very first time that a father and daughter have appeared on the LGBT chart in the same week.

Another noteworthy new entry this week is "Push" by Ukrainian band Kazaky, coming in at #46. The group had announced in 2016 that they were breaking up to pursue solo projects. Three years later, they've gotten back together and added two new members to their lineup. One of the original members (Artur Gaspar) has been given separate billing on this track, which seems to indicate that he may try to continue his solo career as well. Regardless, it's great to see them producing new videos again.

Two artists (Lil Nas X and Claud) are making their very first appearances on the LGBT chart this week. An additional eight artists (Pabllo Vittar, LP, Dani Ride, Tove Lo, Kazaky, Adam Lambert, Sam Bluer, and Mani Orrason) are returning to the chart with brand-new videos.

Chart positions are based on points assigned from (1) the previous week's position, (2) length of time on the chart, (3) views on YouTube from the past seven days, (4) percentage of increase in views from the week prior, (5) my votes, and (6) any votes I've received by Thursday morning. If you'd like to vote for your favorite songs, feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info above).
