Chart Week 39 of 2021: 26th September

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart Week #39 of 2021: Week of 26th September

Chart notes:
Mexican musician Jaime Kohen earns his first #1 on the LGBT chart this weekend with "Algo Más", up two more places from the #3 position on the midweek chart. Jaime is also an actor in addition to his musical career, having appeared in musical theater productions and in commercials in Mexico (in ads for Coca-Cola, Kellogg's cereals, and Mini Cooper, among others). Jaime came out publicly as gay in 2014, stating at the time that he was outraged by LGBTQ persecution in countries like Russia and Poland. "Love is a universal value that should have no limits," he told the Mexican newspaper El Sol de Hermosillo. Over the past four days, the video for "Algo Más" has gained an additional 28,901 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 16.56% over the midweek chart!).

Two videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend. Danish vocalist Mø climbs 5 more notches to reach #6 with "Kindness", while the British quintet Steps leaps ahead 10 spots to land at #9 with "Take Me For a Ride".

Fifteen songs fall off the chart this weekend to make way for fifteen new songs. The highest debut was "Faces" by transgender American singer Trevi Moran, entering the chart at #30. Prior to her transition, Trevi scored a #1 hit on the LGBT chart in 2018 with "Sinner" (using the name Trevor Moran at that time) and the video ended the year at #9 on my 2018 Year-End Special chart. This video is her first official release since coming out publicly as a transgender woman in June 2020. Over the past half-week, the video for "Faces" has gained an additional 15,615 YouTube views (which is an increase of 18.44% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 14 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from Australia, England, the U.S.A., New Zealand, Brazil, Colombia, and Singapore:
  • Tin (from Australia)
  • Mika (from England, UK)
  • Ben Hazlewood (originally from New Zealand & now residing in Australia)
  • Muna & Phoebe Bridgers (both from California, USA)
  • Romero Ferro (from Brazil)
  • Esteman (from Colombia)
  • Green Day (from California, USA)
  • David Archuleta (from Utah, USA)
  • Lillian And The Muses (from Vermont, USA)
  • Griz (from Michigan, USA)
  • Tia Kofi (from England, UK)
  • Macy Rodman (from Alaska, USA)
  • Nathan Hartono (from Singapore)
  • Hippo Campus (from Minnesota, USA)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views & votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
