Chart Week 40 of 2021: 3rd October

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart Week #40 of 2021: Week of 3rd October

Chart notes:
German DJ/producer Felix Jaehn moves into the #1 position on the LGBT chart this weekend, as "I Got a Feeling" climbs 2 more places from the midweek's #3 spot. The track is a collaboration with fellow German DJ/producer Robin Schulz and British vocalist Georgia Ku. Felix describes the song as uplifting and cheerful, telling Out Now Magazine that the lyrics are "about letting go, enjoying life, and embracing the good." Over the past four days, the video for "I Got a Feeling" has gained an additional 40,553 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 10.19% over the midweek chart!).

Three videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend, including the former #1 hit from Connecticut singer Sarah Barrios -- "Thank God You Introduced Me to Your Sister" -- which rebounds 5 spots to land back at #6. Transgender American singer Trevi Moran (from California) leaps ahead 9 places to reach #5 with "Faces". And finally, Australian vocalist Ben Hazlewood (who's originally from New Zealand) rises 8 notches to #8 with "Hold Our Home".

Nine songs fall off the chart this weekend to make way for nine new songs. The highest debut was "Angel Baby" by Australian musician Troye Sivan, entering the chart at #34. Troye teased snippets of the new track on his TikTok account prior to its official release date. "Someone had to bring back juicy gushy gay power bottom ballads," he wrote. He noted that his new material will sound like an updated 2021 version of his 2015 album Blue Neighborhood and added, "I am living my gay boy gay fantasy." Over the past half-week, the video for "Angel Baby" has gained an additional 137,463 YouTube views (which is an increase of 9.32% over the previous chart period).

Further down the chart, we have 8 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from the U.S.A., South Korea, France, Canada, and Morocco:
  • Syd (from California, USA)
  • Pentatonix (from Texas, USA) & Ateez (from South Korea)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views & votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
