Midweek Chart: 6th October 2021

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Midweek Chart for 6th October, 2021

Chart notes:
German DJ/producer Felix Jaehn hangs onto the #1 spot on the LGBT Music Chart with "I Got a Feeling". The track is currently at #26 on the official German radio airplay chart & has gotten as high as #10 on the iTunes Streaming Chart in Germany, according to MusicTrace. Felix came out publicly as bisexual in February 2018, and earlier this year he revealed that he has been in a relationship with a man since the summer of 2020. Over the past three days, the video for "I Got a Feeling" has gained an additional 50,641 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 11.55% over the weekend chart!).

Five videos move up into the Top 10, two of which happen to be from Brazilian artists: Romero Ferro is at #4 with "Chega Perto", while Mateus Carrilho and Gloria Groove jump ahead 14 spots to reach #8 with "Noite De Caça". American acts Muna and Phoebe Bridgers rise 8 places to #6 with "Silk Chiffon". Australian singer Tin climbs 6 more notches to land at #7 with "Weasel". And finally, British musician Mika moves up 7 positions to #10 with "Heroes".

Ten songs fall off the chart to make way for ten new songs. The highest debut was "Altar" by American singer/songwriter Kehlani, entering the chart at #38. In the past, Kehlani has said that she identifies as a member of the LGBTQ community and has described herself at various times as queer, pansexual, polyamorous, and nonbinary. In April 2021 she revealed during a livestream event that she is definitely a lesbian and prefers "she/they" pronouns. In the video for "Altar", Kehlani dances in tandem with transgender Dominican choreographer Diovanna LaBeija. Over the past half-week, the video for "Altar" has gained an additional 318,960 YouTube views (which is an increase of 11.03% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 9 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from Germany, the U.S.A., Canada, China, Russia, England, and Estonia:

Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
