Chart Week 49 of 2021: 5th December

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart Week #49 of 2021: Week of 5th December

Chart notes:
American singer Chaz Cardigan (originally from Elizabethtown, Kentucky) has the new #1 video on the LGBT chart this weekend with "Pictures", moving up one more spot from the midweek's #2 position. After graduating from high school, Chaz moved to Tennessee in order to pursue his musical career and he quickly became a fixture of Nashville's local pop scene. The Advocate called him "an alt-rocker for a new angsty generation, making space for himself in a genre in which LGBTQ musicians aren't often seen." Over the past four days, the video for "Pictures" has gained an additional 14,774 views on YouTube (which is a huge increase of 22.08% since the midweek chart!).

Five videos move up into the Top 10, including a return from a former #1 hit: English vocalist Becky Hill rebounds back up 4 notches to #10 with "My Heart Goes (La Di Da)". American singer Gina Chavez (from Austin, Texas) climbs 7 spots to #4 with "She Persisted". Irish quartet Westlife leaps ahead 10 places to land at #7 with "Starlight". Welsh/English artist Alekxandr rises 8 positions to #8 with "Sunflower". They're joined in the Top 10 by American singer/songwriter LP (originally from Long Island, NY), who moves up 6 more spots to #9 with "Angels".

Eight songs fall off the chart to make way for eight new songs. The highest debut this weekend was "Qualcosa Quasi Inspiegabile" by Italian musician Matti Toni, entering the chart at #37. The title translates into English as "Something Almost Unexplainable". Over the past half-week, the video for "Qualcosa Quasi Inspiegabile" has gained an additional 661 YouTube views (which is an increase of 4.64% over the previous chart period).

Further down the chart, we have 7 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from the U.S.A., France, and Brazil:
  • Edward Barrow (from France)
  • Alaska Thunderfuck (from Pennsylvania, USA)
  • Renan Pitanga (from Brazil)
  • Amber Liu (from California, USA)
  • Michete (from Washington, USA)
  • Cameron Hawthorn (originally from Kansas, USA)
  • Baywud (originally from Texas, USA)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views & votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
