Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.
Chart Week #50 of 2021: Week of 12th December
Chart notes:
English vocalist MNEK stays put at the #1 position on the LGBT chart for a second consecutive week with "Who You Are", his collaboration with British R&B artist Craig David. The track is the lead single off of Craig's upcoming album 22, celebrating his 22 years in the music industry, and the lyrics send a message of acceptance for one's authentic self. Craig wrote on his Instagram account, "This song holds a special place in my heart. I really hope it helps you feel seen, heard, and ultimately express who you are." Over the past four days, the video for "Who You Are" has gained an additional 58,309 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 6.39% since the midweek chart).
Four videos move up into the Top 10, including returns from two former #1 hits that had fallen out of the Top 10 at midweek: American rocker Maggie Lindemann moves back up 6 spots to #6 with "She Knows It", while Brazilian drag queen Gloria Groove rebounds 4 places back up to #10 with "A Queda". South Korean group Ateez climbs 4 more notches to #7 with "Eternal Sunshine". They're joined in the Top 10 by American musician Alex Blue, rising 7 positions to #9 with "Mary".
Twelve songs fall off the chart to make way for twelve new songs. The highest debut this weekend was "Mememe" by American duo 100 Gecs, entering the chart at #35. The act is comprised of DJ/producer Dylan Brady and transgender vocalist Laura Les (who are both originally from St. Louis, Missouri). Since releasing their debut album just two years ago, the band has amassed a loyal fanbase and has worked with scores of other artists (including Brockhampton, Charli XCX, Diplo, Dorian Electra, and Rebecca Black). This track is the first single to be released off their upcoming second LP 10,000 Gecs. Over the past half-week, the video for "Mememe" has gained an additional 38,236 YouTube views (which is an increase of 4.55% over the previous chart period).
Further down the chart, we have 11 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from the U.S.A., Germany, France, Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada:

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
