Chart Week 02 of 2022: 9th January

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart Week #2 of 2022: Week of 9th January

Chart notes:
American musician/actor Joshua Bassett gets his first #1 on the LGBT chart this weekend with "Crisis", climbing one more spot from the midweek's #2 position. Joshua came out publicly as a member of the LGBTQ community in June 2021, although he chooses not to assign any specific labels to his sexuality. Fans have speculated that the lyrics are about his breakup with singer/actress Olivia Rodrigo, whom Joshua dated briefly in 2020. According to SoundCharts, the track has reached #1 on the digital/streaming charts of two countries (the U.S.A. and Ecuador) and has reached the Top 10 in five others (Algeria, Brazil, Hungary, Turkey, and Chile). Altogether the track has appeared on the digital/streaming charts of 77 different countries and has reached #1 on the SoundCharts Global Streaming Chart. The song has also appeared on the radio airplay charts of nine different countries. Over the past four days, the video for "Crisis" has gained an additional 150,682 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 4.05% since the midweek's chart).

Six videos move up into the Top 10, including a return from a former #1 hit that had fallen out of the Top 10 at midweek: Swedish musician Darin is rebounding back up 3 notches to #10 with "Holding Me More". Brazilian drag superstar Gloria Groove jumps 12 places to #4 with "Leilão". Spanish singer/songwriter Pablo Alborán rises 6 positions to #5 with "Soy Capaz". Brazilian artist Romero Ferro moves up 8 more notches to #7 with "Essa Paixão". American drag queen Alaska Thunderfuck (who isn't in drag in this clip) climbs 6 spots to #8 with "Wow". They're joined in the Top 10 by English vocalist Calum Scott, who leaps ahead 14 positions to #9 with "Rise".

Eleven songs fall off the chart to make way for eleven new songs. The highest debut this weekend was "Sweet Talker" by British musician Years And Years, entering the chart at #32. The track is a collaboration with Swedish EDM duo Galantis. According to SoundCharts, the song has already reached the Top 10 on the digital/streaming charts of 14 countries, reaching #1 in Sweden and #2 in the U.K., and has gotten as high as #22 on the SoundCharts Global Streaming Chart. In terms of radio airplay, the track has reached #1 in both the U.K. and Croatia, as well as reaching the Top 10 in three other countries (#3 in Malta, #4 in Japan, and #6 in Hungary). Over the past half-week, the video for "Sweet Talker" has gained an additional 70,081 YouTube views (which is an increase of 8.15% over the previous chart period).

Further down the chart, we have 10 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from Spain, the U.S.A., Mexico, Canada, and New Zealand:

Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
