Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.
Midweek Chart for 19th January, 2022
Chart notes:
Broadway superstar Billy Porter claims the #1 spot on the LGBT chart at midweek with "Children", moving up one more place from the weekend's #2 position. Billy originated the role of Lola in the Broadway musical Kinky Boots, for which he won a Tony Award for Best Actor in 2013. He also became the first openly gay black man to be nominated and to win in any lead-acting category for the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2019, taking home the prize for his role on the television series Pose. Over the past three days, the video for "Children" has gained an additional 22,159 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 4.09% since the weekend's chart).
Two videos move up into the Top 10 at midweek: Brazilian singer Piettro climbs 5 notches to #7 with "5 Minutinhos", while Canadian singer/songwriter Marina Lin rises 3 spots to #8 with "Fall Apart".
Fourteen songs fall off the chart to make way for twelve new songs and two re-entries. The highest debut at midweek was "Metade" by Brazilian actor/singer Bruno Gadiol, entering the chart at #30. Bruno started his career as a contestant on the television talent competitions TV Xuxa in 2013 and The Voice Brasil in 2016. In addition to his musical career, he's also worked in musical theater and in television as an actor. He came out publicly as gay in June 2018. Over the past half-week, the video for "Metade" has gained an additional 18,014 YouTube views (which is a massive increase of 24.50% over the previous chart period!).
