Midweek Chart: 12 January 2022

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Midweek Chart for 12th January, 2022

Chart notes:
Brazilian drag queen Gloria Groove takes over the top spot on the LGBT chart at midweek with "Leilão", climbing 3 more notches from the weekend's #4 position. According to SoundCharts, the track has appeared on the digital/streaming charts of 7 different countries and has reached the Top 5 in two of them (#1 in Brazil and #5 in Portugal). The song has also reached #1 on the radio airplay chart in Brazil. Over the past three days, the video for "Leilão" has gained an additional 1,218,547 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 5.99% since the weekend's chart).

Four videos move up into the Top 10 at midweek. Norwegian singer Astrid S. moves up 9 places to #3 with "Pretty". American actor/singer Billy Porter leaps ahead 12 spots to #5 with "Children". French singer/songwriter Bilal Hassani is also jumping 12 notches to #8 with "Merci". They're joined in the Top 10 by South Korean boy band Ateez, who are climbing 9 positions to #9 with "The Real".

Nine songs fall off the chart to make way for nine new songs. The highest debut at midweek was "5 Minutinhos" by Brazilian musician Piettro, entering the chart at #30. In the video, Piettro is in a relationship with a woman but he is dreaming and fantasizing about meeting other guys. He explained further in an interview with Conexão Magazine that it's about a man "living in a relationship that doesn't serve him anymore... and his unconscious encourages him to have new experiences, in this case with people of the same sex." Over the past half-week, the video for "5 Minutinhos" has gained an additional 5,960 YouTube views (which is a massive increase of 22.51% over the previous chart period!).

Further down the chart, we have 8 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from the U.S.A., Spain, Belgium, France, Italy, Canada, Singapore, and Hong Kong:

If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
